Imaginary University School information & policies
Use the system responsibly

Acceptable Use

Rules for safe, accurate, and authorized use of student, staff, and RFID scanner accounts.

Who these rules apply to

These rules apply to students, admins, RFID monitor users, and anyone who accesses the public pages operated by Imaginary University. Public information pages and announcements may be read without an account; protected records require the correct authorized role.

Account responsibilities

  • Use only the account assigned or authorized for you.
  • Keep passwords and authentication tokens confidential.
  • Sign out on shared devices and report suspected account misuse promptly.
  • Do not impersonate another student, guardian, staff member, or scanner station.
  • Do not attempt to bypass role restrictions or access another person's record.

Records and communications

  • Do not alter, invent, hide, scrape, or distribute attendance or student information without authority.
  • Administrative corrections must be supported by a legitimate reason and may be audited.
  • Use portal messages and announcements for appropriate school purposes.
  • Do not upload unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or privacy-invasive content.
  • Report inaccurate records through the school instead of attempting to change them improperly.

Scanner station rules

RFID monitor accounts are dedicated kiosk accounts. They may access only the scanner interface and must not be used as general administrator accounts. Scanner devices should be physically supervised and secured against unauthorized use.

Availability and official records

The system supports school operations but may occasionally be unavailable. SMS delivery can be delayed or fail because of connectivity, provider, or mobile-network conditions. The school may verify a portal display or SMS against its authorized source records before making an official decision.

Misuse

The school may restrict access, preserve relevant audit records, investigate suspected misuse, and apply appropriate school or legal procedures. Security or privacy concerns should be reported through the Contact & Data Rights page.
