Imaginary University School information & policies
A simpler explanation

Student Privacy

A student-friendly guide to what the attendance system knows, why the school uses it, and what you can do.

Your information belongs to you

Imaginary University uses this system to help record attendance, show you your school information, and notify your recorded guardian. The school must look after this information carefully.

What does the system know?

  • Your name, photo, RFID number, grade, section, and school-year history.
  • When and where your card was tapped at a school RFID reader.
  • Your recorded address and your guardian's name and phone number.
  • Messages you exchange with an administrator through your portal.
  • Security information needed to protect your account.

Who can see it?

You can see your own portal record. Authorized school administrators can work with student records when their job requires it. Your guardian may receive attendance SMS notices. The SMS provider receives the guardian phone number and the message needed for delivery. Other students should not be able to see your private profile.

What if something is wrong?

Tell the school if your name, guardian number, attendance time, or another detail is wrong. An administrator can review the source records and make a verified correction. The system keeps a history of administrator-made attendance corrections for accountability.

Keep your account safe

Do not share your password or let another person use your account. The school should not ask you to send your password in a portal message. Sign out when using a shared device.

You can ask questions

You—or your parent or guardian—can ask what information is kept, request a copy where appropriate, ask for a correction, or raise a privacy concern. The school may need to confirm who you are before sharing a private record.
